Labour Preparation Session

As your baby’s birth approaches feelings of excitement can be mixed with fear and anxiety, especially if you go over your ‘due date’.   There can be pressure to have labour induced artificially and this can cause stress to women who might prefer to allow Nature to take its course.  If there are no complications in pregnancy a Labour Preparation Session can be offered when you reach full term and at least 40 weeks pregnant.

Reflexology and Massage Therapy to encourage labour

I offer relaxing reflexology and massage therapy treatments to increase birthing hormones oxytocin and endorphins to encourage labour, and the focus here is on keeping you as calm and relaxed as possible, reducing any discomforts.  Holistic therapies provide a feeling of balance and relaxation supporting your own body to set into labour.

Studies have found that those receiving regular reflexology and massage therapy treatments during pregnancy tend to deliver closer to term, have shorter labours and are less likely to require medical intervention.   My experience in practise as a maternity reflexologist and pregnancy massage therapist certainly reflects this.
